Devendorf
Birding
Trail at
Melon
Bluff
Through the American Forest Foundation's Forested Flyways program, the Devendorfs are proud to present an
interpretive birding trail that runs across the varied forested ecosystems of Melon Bluff. The entire trail is
approximately 2.5 miles in length and runs from the Nature Center through pine uplands, mixed hardwood forest,
blackwater swamp, and fields to Hidden Lake. Signs along the trail highlight various ecological concepts
related to birds and forests. The trail is open during regular park hours or by appointment for groups of 6 or more.

Partners
Without the technical and fiscal support of these organizations, the interpretive birding trail at Melon Bluff
would not have been possible. Please visit their websites to learn more about the fantastic cooperative work these
organizations do for the environment.
A special thanks goes out to the Ogeechee Audubon Society for their invaluable assistance in opening the trail.
